Dakota's 2021 Fashion Predictions

I’ve seen dozens of “predicting 2021 fashion trends” videos, but so rarely do I feel like they are specific to 2021.  While I do feel GAP  will be big, I don’t think we’ll be seeing many of our fashion idols rocking them.  The fashion gods have other plans, I believe, and we can expect many people to wear them from runway models, to Kendall Jenner and our favorite influencers.  So, here are my 2021 trend predictions that won’t include the GAP hoodie.

Colorful Tights

Gucci has set the bar.  For years, they have pushed the colored tights agenda and I believe this year they shall prevail.  Throwing on a pair to add to an otherwise basic outfit could add the pop to add cohesion to you instagram or brighten all black fit.

Cowboy Boots:

Being from the south I genuinely never thought there would be a day breaking out my cowboy boots would be appropriate from instagram.  Continuing with the overall theme of 2021 being brighter fashion wise, I believe a lot of the insta baddies will be reaching for a bright color to add to an outfit or an all black pair for neutral outfits.

Gloves:

Fashion houses have always added gloves to their runway looks and because of this use they’ve often been associated with high class.  If you’re into elevating your outfit to embrace more classic and high fashion silhouettes, adding gloves is the perfect way.

Color/Pastel Mixing

I know we won’t see more of this trend until the spring and summer from large swaths of people, but pastel mixing I believe will make a huge appearance this year.  For the people who love bright instagramable backgrounds or like the “soft girl” aesthetic this is for you.

Not everything is included in this list but here are my honorable mentions: sparkly pants, Jean Paul Gautier mesh tops, and pattern mixing I believe are also going to be hits.  As always, if you want to see what I’m wearing or doing you can follow me @dakotashelton_ on Instagram, and if you want personal help on your style journey you can head over to our style survey!
